Meatroot Poems

Inspired by my buddy jtruitt I have decided to share with my three readers a collection of poems that have be written by the guys in my small group (by the by we have also developed the name meatroot as a saying that would take way too long to explain. okay it isn’t that long, but whatever). Most of the poems have been written in the context of post-small group activities which mainly consist of shooting at each other through Fat Jack’s HD projector in a uber-reality funhouse called Halo2. Yet I digress…
THE FLAGS WERE IN PLACE
WARRIORS PREPARED
UNKNOWN, THE OUTCOME OF THE BATTLE
ROVING VEHICLES A MANY
BATTLE WOUNDS A PLENTY
BACK TO BASE, THEY’RE ON THE MOVE
KEEP PRESSING IN
BIG BA DA BOOM INVISIBLE AGAIN
SHCLEIDEN DEADLY, BRINGING THE PAIN
BUT IN THE END, SORRY MY FRIEND
GENERAL REE AND ADMIRAL U
PROCLAIMED VICTORY OVER THE TWO.
-General Ree (aka: magoo)
Touché, touché, our Gen Ree,
I bow my humble head at thee
But watch thy back
For my blind attacks
Will rend your claim of victory
-Fat Jack (aka: BigBadaBoom)
To the Admiral U and the General Ree
Both to whom a worthy adversary
The shots have been fired
The bodies have dropped
But not a single word about who is indeed on top
A bitter fight till the end
Winning by only his chinny chin chin
General Ree has claimed the last victory
But alas tis not the end
For TOMO and B3 will have their sweet sweet revenge!
-TOMOHAWK (aka: jstar)
defeats bitter aftertaste
and death
ree uuu! ree uuu!
victory’s cry
-a haiku, by Admiral U (aka: magoo)
oh poor magoo
he believed everything he read on the interweb
tis where he lost his street credibility
jumbled with lies and truth
he was unable to sort
so he sent out emails proclaiming this is truth!
when in reality it was nothing but a spoof…
oh poor magoo
hast lost hold of the truth
-TOMOHAWK (aka: jstar)
Enjoy the quiet of your cold spoons as you lap up your soup. Go ahead and grin away like some great and terrible cat dressed in your finery. It’s always quietest just before the dawn.
-Admiral U (aka: magoo)
Cue the ivory trumpet of war beyond the snowcapped mountains of Conjobulation. Let her moans reverberate around this desolate land – echoing impending doom and desolation.
-Fat Jack (aka: BigBadaBoom)
As the dawn approaches, oft you will see the faint glimmer of my iridescent sword as it swiftly decapitates the hopes of your existence. To my jubilant muddle I see a noble, Fat Jack lay claim in a fiery wrath, the embodiment of a former foe; Mr General Ree. The dawn must come and it shall with a vengeance.
-TOMOHAWK (aka: jstar)
A New Hope It is a period of civil war and a dark time for the rebellion. The Empire and Sith lords Tomohawk and Fat Jack have managed to qwell the attempts of the resistance to break the Empires grip. Overly confident from there recent sucess the Empire has underestimated two of most powerful Jedi. Little do the Sith lords know that these knights are now poised to destroy them and restore freedom to the galaxy…
-Admiral U (aka: magoo)
sometimes, if you listen very carefully, you can hear the quiet whispers of the fangoon people reaping the fall harvest. diligently they work, heads down, brows damp with sweat, gathering up what they can before the winter rains flood the great canal. they hum gentle melodies of hope and perseverance, steeling up there hearts in preparation for what they know will come. consuming, jabbing, swirling, the great destroyer takes crop and fangoon alike. It is heartless, and cotton. All live in fear of the vengeful wrath of q-tip.
-Admiral U (aka: magoo)
The poem contributors: Fat Jack (aka: BigBadaBoom), General Ree (aka: magoo), Admiral U (aka: magoo) & TOMOHAWK (aka: jstar).
