A Long Summers Slumber

Yeah that's not me surfing yyaawwnn! Phew that was quite a nap. So I’m sure all three to five of my readers are wondering where I have been all summer long. I will start by responding to zut toe: this site is like fine wine…the longer it sits, the better it tastes. Oh who am I kidding this site isn’t wine and I don’t even know who this mystery commenter is. What I do know is that I have enjoyed my summer. Mostly the vacation(s) part of it. The wife and I just returned from the Outer Banks, NC. The in-laws have a place down there and we were spending time with them, aunt & uncle in-law and friends. Good times had by all. I would say that this vacation was very memorable for many different reasons. One of the biggest reasons was the fact that I was able to fulfill a life long dream of mine to learn how to surf. That’s right I hung ten (okay I didn’t technically hang my ten toes over the front of the board, but I figured I would throw that in there). Albeit brief, but it still counts. Thus has started my latest campaign of becoming a world class pro-surfer and living off the fruits of my surfing abilities. Of course I have endured such insults as “your too old” and “your just too old” and “I think your past your prime”. Standard fair if you ask me. Sure I have some work to do, but I’m committed from the chair in my cube to the surfing sites I surf. So perhaps in the next couple of days if I am motivated I will share some funny stories from this past week at the beach.

Here are just a few of the key ingredients: dynamite, pole vaulting, laughing gas, choppers – can you see how incredible this is going to be? – hang gliding, come on!
